These are a family favorite. David's sister submitted the recipe for a family cookbook and we love it. David took these brownies to work a couple times shortly after we got the recipe and his manager commented that these brownies changed his life (hence the name).
Life Changing Brownies
1
Brownie base
Ingredients
1 cup
butter, melted
2 cups
sugar
4
eggs
6 tablespoons
cocoa powder
1 cup
flour
2 teaspoons
vanilla
1/2 teaspoon
salt
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a mixer for 2 minutes. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Cook at 350* for 25-35 minutes.
The brownie batter lightens in color as more air is added. The texture also changes, so make sure you don't skip the 2 minutes of mixing.
2
Center filling
Ingredients
2 jars, 7 oz each
marshmallow creme
Instructions
After pulling brownies from oven, press down (or cut off and enjoy) the edges to make a flat surface. Cool brownies (20 minutes) before spreading marshmallow creme evenly.
I don't always use all the marshmallow creme. Sometimes I only use 1 jar. The creme is where this brownie gets messy, but the full creme gives a nice layered look (before it melts).
3
Topping
Ingredients
12 ounces
chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1 cup
peanut butter (creamy)
3 cups
rice crispy cereal
Instructions
Melt chocolate chips in microwave, 1 minutes at a time. When mostly melted, add peanut butter (and potentially melt for 1 more minute). Stir in rice crispy cereal. Spread over marshmallow layer of brownies. Put in refrigerator to set for 30 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy.
